We offer services to the community based on the needs of the community year-round. We are a not-for-
profit organization and rely on donations (Money donated in Victoria stays in Victoria).
Our programs and services have three goals:
1. Short-term emergency assistance
2. Employment skills
Alongside direct support, we often work in collaboration and cooperation with other agencies to help
people in Victoria.

The Salvation Army:
The Salvation Army is an international Christian organization that began its work in Canada in 1882 and
has grown to become the largest non-government direct provider of social services in BC and in Canada.
The Salvation Army gives hope and support everyday in more than 120 countries. Its message is motives
by the love of God and a practical concern for the needs of humanity.
We provide practical help and compassionate care without prejudice. All clients are helped with respect,
dignity, and worth with an understanding of psychological, material, social, and spiritual needs. We work
in collaboration with other social services agencies, government services, businesses, and individuals
to meet the needs of the vulnerable members of our society. We do this directly when we are able or
through referral when we aren’t.
